RVC Tennis Awarded Organization of the Year!
USTA (United States Tennis Association) New England announced its 2018 Awards recipients for dedication and commitment to growing the sport of tennis in their local communities. “USTA New England is grateful to have so many tennis enthusiasts dedicated to growing and developing tennis. To be selected from a field of such worthy nominees is a true honor, and we look forward to celebrating these deserving winners and all they’ve done to give back to the sport,” said USTA New England President and CEO, Peter Parrotta.
RVC Tennis received Organization of the Year for 2018, awarded to the organization that best exemplifies service to the community, service to its members through junior and adult programs, and service to the game of tennis.
Tennis at the River Valley Club is bigger than it’s ever been with a wide range of instructional offerings as well as community outreach events to promote tennis to adults and children. RVC holds clinics for players of all ability levels as well as opportunities for players to create their own clinics to fine tune their skills and provide ways to keep growing individually and as a group.
RVC Tennis currently sponsors 17 USTA League teams, seven of which reached at least the District Championships in 2018. RVC has also partnered with many local recreation centers to offer lessons to members of the community. Beginning in the fall, RVC Tennis launched Buddy Up Tennis at the club, a program that teaches tennis to children and teens with Down Syndrome.
“I am thrilled and it is a great honor to have received the USTA New England Organization of the year. This award is truly a testament to how amazing the tennis community is at RVC and in the Upper Valley as a whole. Our tennis community always gives me and my team such great energy, and they inspire us to do better every day. Without them we would not accomplish what we have been able to,” said Andrew Gunberg, Director of Tennis
