To say JK has been an inspiration is an understatement. My name is Alissa and I work for RVC’s FitKids Childcare. When I was younger, I hated anything about fitness. As I got older, I started to realize that my body wasn’t going to take care of itself, so I started to work out where I was employed at the time.
I had an extremely limited supply of workout gear, but I made the best of it. To really motivate myself, my spouse and I signed up for a Spartan Sprint Race. It was so hard, but so worth it.
One of the benefits for working at FitKids is the free membership to RVC, so when I started, I explored RVC here and there. I got comfortable in the general workout area, but I still wasn’t getting the result I wanted so I looked at what classes were available. I took a couple different classes before entering one of JK’s classes: BodyCombat. It sounded so intimidating, but I had a feeling I would like it. After entering that first JK class I was hooked on both the class and JK’s teaching style. So, I decided to try her Spinning class. Boy was it tough, but I felt so amazing afterward.
JK pushes you hard, but all out of love. She knows you’re here to make a difference in yourself, and she wants to watch you succeed. I have been going to JK’s classes since January and I am hitting all my goals now. I feel so strong, fit, and mentally healthy. Words cannot describe how much I love JK’s classes and RVC.

Alissa is a pleasure to have in class and sets an amazing example as a teacher and childcare provider at RVC. The changes in her confidence, body and fitness level are remarkable (not to mention her hair color changes weekly). I am thrilled she is taking this journey with me and my amazing crew.
