Success with Reformer Pilates

“I started taking Reformer Pilates classes at the Club in the fall of 2016 after I was introduced to the Reformer when visiting family in the Midwest. I have been taking classes roughly twice a week for most of the year, and they have significantly improved my form, strength, and overall fitness.

One of the reasons I like the Reformer is that it reduces impact. I have had a lot of problems with tendonitis and other repetitive injuries from other kinds of exercise (running, biking, Pi-Yo). So Reformer Pilates has been great; I have been injury-free all year, while also working out new muscle groups.

I also have a back injury that can be very sensitive. Not only has Reformer Pilates helped me with spine flexibility and core strength (which is key to pain management for my back), but also it has kept my injury from flaring up all year!

The instructors are fantastic. They are very good at leading groups, while also attending to individuals. I have been inspired by the range of ages in my Reformer classes. And even though I have been doing yoga for almost 20 years, I have learned a lot about my body through each instructor’s teaching.

My Reformer classes have improved my yoga practice and my running, too. Emily Anderson helped me to identify problems with my gait that were exacerbating hamstring pain. This is but one example of the many benefits I have received from my Reformer classes.

I couldn’t be happier with my regimen and the level of instruction. And I couldn’t be happier with the Club. It has helped me to develop a work out regimen that is sustainable and flexible, and it has kept me injury-free for a year!”
