Always Motivating and Pushing

I started training with Elsa in March of 2021. I got to know different exercises and exercise pairings that are good for the body to ensure proper muscle growth. 90% of the workouts that I did during the initial training I would not have done if I were to exercise by myself. Before the training, the equipment at the gym was a little overwhelming no matter how many times I read how to use them.
Now I know that expert guidance is the most effective way to overcome that obstacle. Through training, I slowly lost my fear of the gym floor and I felt more confident to work out myself! The training sessions were equally tiring and refreshing. Elsa kept me motivated throughout, while pushing my limits. She quickly modified the exercises to suit me whenever needed, as well as pushed me out of my comfort zone when I was capable. I learned I had been doing some exercises the wrong way from before the training that caused more harm than good. I would not have noticed this by myself, but Elsa was quick to spot the problems and correct them.
There were days when I would just procrastinate going to the gym and then invent a reason to not go. And the pandemic only made it worse! Once I started training, it was like having an accountability partner. She had prepared a workout plan for the days we did not meet and I decided to stick to the plan.
The hardest part was waking up early and once that was done, the rest would just follow!
Additionally, I also trained for running for which Elsa prepared a run plan for every week. Very soon I found myself making good progress in running. At the start, I could barely run a mile without breaks – a 5k sounded ambitious. A couple weeks back I ran 6 miles with ease and now I have signed up for 5K and 10K races in the coming weeks!
Personal Training with Elsa keeps me active throughout the week.
So, I also started eating healthier food and maintaining a proper sleep schedule. Furthermore, the training has made me a better person, in general, to be more disciplined, have healthy habits, and be more confident. Now my day doesn’t feel complete if I don’t exercise or run!
To me, having a trainer is having a friend who motivates you, pushes you, and helps in achieving your fitness goals!
Sugajen Narayana Perumal, RVC member since 2018.
Sugajen and I have been training together for about 8 months. In the beginning, we focused heavily on functional movement, proper form, and establishing a base level of conditioning. From this starting point, Sugajen has soared above and beyond my expectations. Now our workouts involve more advanced compound movements, heavier loads, and higher intensity intervals.
One of the best parts about working with Sugajen is his level of commitment. Not only does he give 100% to every workout, but he has also committed to lifestyle goals outside of our sessions. He trains twice per week at 6am, and on three other days he religiously follows our running training plan. He just accomplished his most recent running goal, which was to run 6 miles for the first time!
Sugajen has shown incredible improvements since last March in balance, stability, strength, endurance, and overall fitness. It’s been a blast working together and watching Sugajen’s health and fitness goals grow as he improves.
