February Specials, Class Additions, and Changes

Specials

Dartmouth College Employees (and spouses) save $195 when they sign up for membership 
Our membership special for the month of February is for Dartmouth College employees. All Dartmouth College employees are eligible to join RVC and save the $195 signup fee. Spouses of Dartmouth College employees are also eligible to join and save the $195 signup fee.

Note, if you are a current club member and you refer a Dartmouth College employee, you will still receive our $100 referral bonus!

One year agreement required, offer expires 2/28/19.

Bark ‘n Burn
Saturdays from 1:45-2:45pm. With RVC’s Abbey-Kaye Ritter, and Paws 4 Training’s Sarah Teffner. February 16 – March 16, 2019!
RVC and Paws 4 Training have teamed up to provide this fun fitness class for you and your canine companion. This 5-week small group training will provide you with a great workout while incorporating activities that will work your dog both mentally and physically. A mix of cardio and strength training will be incorporated into this interval training class. Workout, burn calories and enjoy time with your dog! Pick up a flyer for details.

Ashtanga Yoga
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11:30am-12:45pm. With Stacey Zimet, a direct student of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, the developer of Ashtanga Yoga. Class is taught Mysore style, the traditional way of practicing Ashtanga yoga. Mysore style  means you can learn at your own pace, rather than the “led” class where everyone is moving in unison. Mysore style offers a highly personalized approach with all of the group energy of a conventional class. Pick up a flyer for details.

Arm Balance Workshop
Sunday February 17 from 2-3pm. With Sara Grote.
This workshop will focus on learning how to balance the body for arm balancing poses. We will go over proper form, core strength, the difference between male and female centers of gravity and how to feel lightness when balancing. Special focus on Crow, Side Crow, Peacock, and Koundinyasana. All levels welcome. There will be difference levels of each pose to try, depending on strength and practice level. Culinary Rehab Lecture
Tuesday, February 12 from 8-9pm. With Dr. Deb Kennedy.
Paleo, Keto, Macro, Vegan: Which diet is right for you? Come hear Dr. Deb Kennedy talk about how you can determine which diet will help you reach your goals – weight loss, flat belly, mental clarity, strength, etc.

Yogi’s Monthly Special – Glowga (AGAIN!)
Fridays from 5:45-6:45pm (note the time change, we will be starting 15 minutes later than last month, to allow buffer room between classes.)
Back by popular demand, with Sara Grote. Come join an enthusing vinyasa flow at a whole new level. Why? Because we’re getting the glow sticks out and doing class under black light! Enjoy watching the body move through the darkness with bright colors and shining smiles. We encourage you to wear white or neon colors to make this class an unforgettable time! Bring your friends, bring a smile and enjoy our first glow yoga series!

Class Additions

Spinning 45
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-6:15pm.
With new RVC instructor, Katelyn McPherson. An indoor endurance workout on a stationary bike, training bodies and minds to simulate riding on the road. Riders of all levels will experience a great cardio workout covering a variety of terrain. New riders are asked to arrive 10 minutes before class. Takes place in the Spin Studio.

Stretch and Restore Yoga
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:15-8:15am.
With new RVC instructor, Lydia Shahi. Whether you are brand new to your mat or a seasoned yogi, Stretch & Restore is a yoga class for all levels with plenty of modifications, and variations, to meet your practice where it is. This yoga class will start you off with gentle movement to warm up in order to prepare your body for some deeper stretching, with a focus on hips, hamstrings and shoulders. You will use straps, blocks and a bolster throughout the practice to help you settle into various postures and work on holding them for several breaths. Come join us on Tuesday and Thursday mornings to find your breath, loosen up tight muscles, and set yourself up for an amazing day!  Takes place in Yoga Studio.

  • Broadway Cardio with Jennifer Sargent will now be start at 6:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • BodyPump with Richard Greenlee on Fridays will now be at 12:05pm.
  • BodyPump with Richard Greenlee on Tuesdays will now be at 5:30pm.

Class Cancellations

  • Vinyasa Flow Yoga with Sarah Chapin on Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays. Please join our new Stretch and Restore Yoga on Tuesdays/Thursdays at 7:15-8:15am.
  • Abs Class with Richard Greenlee on Tuesdays at 5:30pm.
  • Tai Chi with Doug Cedeno on Fridays at 2pm.
